Synopsis

The public work of José Guimarães happens from the evolution of the modern sculpture, which, resorting to industrial raw materials in replacement of noble considered materials, overcomes the realistic sculpture model destined for political, historical, or religious affirmation, not to be enclosed in the inside of a museum, but to keep up with the growth of cities and respective urban requalification processes. In this way, it melts with the new city panorama and becomes part of the people’s experiences.
